The fact that August is here amazes me. I'm sad that summer is flying by so fast and senior year is quickly approaching (gabj'gobnsfbrfqf;lfpsdsdfjsarawrafnvos). I finished all of my camp counseling for the summer last month and its nice to have summer to myself and spend time with my parents, friends, and family before its all gone. Marching Band officially started and band and pre-band camp went well. Its weird being "in charge" of people and I feel that us seniors are doing a better job at making sure everyone is included than ever before. I have high hopes for this football season but who knows. Football is football.
I did vacation bible school (VBS) around mid-July and boy its interesting to have so many kids, Pre K-5th grade, in one location! I did morning skits like last year and was a music mentor. Majority of the kids were great but some were bouncing off the walls! Sadly, I had to deal with 2 male counselors, one who is a rising sophomore at my school and a rising 6th grader at my middle school, whom I will have them named by, J and C (respectively). I can rant all day about those two but overall, J called me a "Nazi" for being "too controlling" over the kids; yes and if the kid would fall and hurt them badly at camp, WE'RE ALL IN TROUBLE!!! I swear I was going to punch J when he said that. I was using a nice tone to attempt to get the kids to settle down because we as counselors are the ones in charge of other peoples' children and I take that very seriously. C would be overly immature and just want attention all to himself. I was dying that whole week. Hopefully both guys will mature in the future but I really doubt it.
